Change fuel filter on a 96 accord?

It looks impossible to change the fuel filter from where it is. Do i just stick my hand in there and try my best to get it out? or is there another methodChange fuel filter on a 96 accord?According to Honda the fuel filter never needs to be changed unless you have a fuel system failure. There is a bypass valve in the fuel filter in case it begins to clog. However it is a good idea to change it in my mind because of that. Stick your hand in there and remember the connections are very tight. Good luck, you might want to hire it done.Change fuel filter on a 96 accord?the guy above is right but if you really need to change it you need to be strong to unscrew it they are a ***** to unscrew trustChange fuel filter on a 96 accord? The filter on your accord is the same design as my 96 Civic.

Disconnect the + cable from the battery first.

Have some rags handy for a bit of overflow but no pressure.

You need a 13 mm to loosen the fitting that leads into the top of the filter and use an adjustable to hold the fitting that is part of the filter. Twist counter-clockwise, will undo easily. Bottom fitting is the same. Once you have both fittings loose, you can undo the holder that the filter sits in.

Take your time and be mindful of the aluminum gaskets that come with the new filter.

It took me 30 minutes to do.
