How do you change a fuel filter on a 1990 Cheverolet Berretta?

There are a few cautions before the answer---the fuel filter is on a line that is part of a closed system--by that I mean it is a sealed system that is under a great deal of pressure and when anything opens that line, gas will spew with great force. That presents a fire hazard---spewed gasoline is mostly spray--and vapors more readily dissipate--and the vapors are the worst part os THIS scenario--vapors are heavier than air and can find a igniton source and EXPLODE--static from your clothes--- pilot lights in the garage--cell phone rings and BOOM---anything can set off gasoline fumes. Then if that doesn't happen, the fluid will get on your hands and run down your arms and get in your clothes and on your shoes--BOOM---now you are a torch. Static again is the culprit--and then the SPILLED fluid becomes a problem--how do you sop it up and what will you do with the towels???? No matter where you put them--it is an explosion hazard---remember my words about the fumes??? And then if the stuff gets in your eyes or you get it sprayed in your mouth---major medical issues...fluid build up in your lungs is a fatal condition....chemical pnuemonia is the diagnosis. So to change the filter--GO TO A GOOD MECHANIC.
