Fuel filter change question?

I want to change the fuel filter of my 2000 Dodge Truck RAM 2500 Van 5.2L SFI 8cyl. But I looked it up for the location and it says this: Under vehicle, center, below seating area, mounted on top of fuel tank, in fuel pump module.

What does %26quot;in fuel pump module%26quot; mean? Is it something that can be done by someone with basic knowledge on cars? Does it require to have the filter changed in the first place? Thank you!Fuel filter change question? There is no serviceable fuel filter on that van. Just the fuel strainer on the fuel pump module. Just needs to be changed whenever you replace the fuel pump.Fuel filter change question?it is in the tank in that model, if you are not having a problem with high fuel load pressures, leave it alone. not the easiest thing to do.

going back to your question, if you can look up pressure requirements for that truck, then measure pressure in that system. com-pare the two, and a long as you are in that range, you are ok. given the difficulty of that filter i am sure that the engineers put some thought to it to extend the life of that filter. never mind the fact that the fuel that is in your tank is filtered at least 5 times before it reaches the cylinders any way.
