Just changed 2000 Focus to biodiesel. DO i change fuel filter now & service it in March or full service now?

DOes anyone know about biodiesel?...One biodiesel supplier said i should get a full service very near to when car was due for servicing - couldn't say when - didn't want to give the wrong answer?. Yet another said just change the fuel filter after 2 tanks. He had a landy that packed up after 4 1/2 tanks without fuel filter change. Is a blocked filter likely to affect my car starting in the morning? Not sure if I can change it myself, just ordered the Haynes manual - should i be tampering with it - as a complete novice? My MOT is due in March, so thought i could save pennies with booking both together.Just changed 2000 Focus to biodiesel. 1- Ford does not approve use of biodiesel, so any problem to your engine will invalid your warranty

2- You can only rely on word of mouth to get information on biodiesel usage...

switched to biodiesel now? Change the filter immediately!Just changed 2000 Focus to biodiesel. Yes, I'd change it now, change it after 2 tanks or so just to see, and then change it after a few more. It's kind of like changing your oil often...you can't hurt it by giving it a new filter.

Follow the directions properly (no shortcuts) and the whole process should only take 10-15 minutes, whereas you'll probably get jabbed with $50-80 for a filter and labor at a shop and it may take a day (considering workload).

Oh...yes, a clogged fuel filter will obviously hamper performance, or not give you a start at all. Your fuel has to pass through the filter before it gets to the engine in all cases.Just changed 2000 Focus to biodiesel. DO i change fuel filter now %26amp; service it in March or full service now? When changing fuel types to bio diesel it is important to change your fuel filter as soon as you can. This is because bio diesel has a mild solvent action which will release particles from inside the tank and fuel lines. It is not unusual to have to change the filter a couple of times during this process. Many add a second filter. It is also important to ensure that the bio diesel supply you are getting is filtered and free of contaminants. If you are buying from a commercial supplier it is usually pretty clean and is likely a blend of diesel/bio diesel. If you are using recycled vegetable oil, this has to be filtered several times and is usually heated in order to facilitate cold starting. You can go on line to many different forums about the pros and cons of bio diesel use. Just Google bio diesel and read away.Just changed 2000 Focus to biodiesel.
